(This is from Australian friends)
In summary of that above Australian October, 2008 court ruling...

"The Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) in the UK have upheld a complaint made against a Commando Krav Maga advert in the Martial Arts press. The ASA as an organisation has teeth and the advert will have to be changed in line with its ruling.

The advert was found to have breached the code ref. "truthfulness" and "substantiation". You can see the ruling at the link (above) along with the CKM reply to the initial complaint, and ref. the CKM reply, draw your own conclusions.

To CKM practitioners and instructors, I'm sorry it came to this but something had to be done as people have bought into this system on the basis of the Chief Instructor's experience; this has to be regarded as questionable and all CKM instructors may now wish to review their own advertising."

My God, what would this type of thing do to Jim Wagner ads in Oz?

While this ad investigation won't happen in any other countries, the story of it will rumble and grumble worldwide. But, the excuse/story will be that Moni is "top secret" and can't produce the records in public. And minions will be still be minions.

One can still substantiate that they were in a Special Operations unit without disclosing the specific unit.
I am Sorry to see Moni to found to be misleading.
I believe, as has been said, CKM will claim that being Secret means he,Moni, cannot say one way or another what the truth is.

Another one bites the dust

Yes,imagine what Wagner's claims would get OZ.
Then again are, there organizations that Wagner's course would conflict with who would challenge his claims?

Well to add fuel to this fire, Moni has fallen foul of the UK advertising standards who challenged his recent "Anti Terror Expert" claims and even his claim to be a former Israeli Commando see links

Moni Floored on grounds of unsubstantiated claims and truthfulness
http://www.realitybasedtraining.co.uk/commando-claims-unfounded.html

Itay Gil finds it easy to get a letter to prove his activities yet Moni cant http://www.protect-usa.com/images/letters/big2.jpg

I also read on another forum he is being investigated by other agencies abroad.

Moni is on the cover of the new Black Belt.

I think it covered Moni's problems in Australia where the government charged him with false advertising about pretending to be a commando.

This is exactly why when I insruct I say I am teaching elements of KM and I do not  join any specialized group- I say I have taken lessons from various KM groups only.

I have been in contact with a few KM instructors in Europe-they are not happy with the state of KM-and they attempt to stay away from talking trash-at least the ones i met...

Its not the style - its the man who is in it that counts..........

If all the various KM groups would just admit that the tactics are a combination of
CQC then it might work out for the better - who knows  and frankly who cares ;D ;D

Thanks Hock.  Moni is probably having a not so good day right now.  Hopefully, he is eating a cheese sandwich.
