I'm just trying to figure out exactly how I'm the one looking like a fool here?
For someone who didn't achieve an awful lot during a very short period as a non-combatant in the military, you certainly do make a lot of noise about being a 'veteran' and have the temerity to point fingers at others for their lack of service - outstanding effort.
I meet a few guys like you every so often, that had a stab at being 'all they could be' but fell short, and then remind the world at every chance they get how they served their country. Be proud of your country, absolutely, but try to make sure that your country is also proud of you...
Coming out with cute, but lame, comments such as "You see that little gold and green lapel pin avatar in the top left hand of this post, That's all you need to know about me." is evidence of your deluded view of what you actually achieved - is that what defines you then? Two years of fixing helicopters and a medical discharge? Somebody could be forgiven for reading your nonsense and assuming you were present on combat operations, such is the impression you seem to want to convey. Perhaps if it were 20+ years it could be true - in any branch of the service - that you were a true military man, and that such a service was a defining and shaping period of your life, but two fucking years?
It must be a different situation with the US Army, but here you'd be classed as being barely trained after only two years - and I'm aware that some of this time would be inactive due to the terms of your final duty disposal. Two fucking years - tops - makes you little more than a rank novice still wet behind the ears, hardly something to make any noise about as a 'veteran' of any description.
As for being an expert with blades, guns, batons etc - do we just take your word for it?
You sound like a very dangerous man indeed, I'd love to see the proof.
