The translation sometimes is a little off but good articles-weithr you subscribe to that way of fighting or not.

They always strike to the knife hand or arm while continuing in towards the body instead of retracting the blade to stab or cut again.

I am not a knife fighter by any means but the info provided gives one another perspective on this dangerous way of protecting yourself.
 
Hopefully when i return ill be able to take some more of Hocks knife seminars and
get more proficient-but this article appears pretty good.
