   Has anyone seen this movie? I'm not a big George Clooney fan, but I'm looking for some reviews before I waste money on it.

Michael Enchantis. just had a Christmas convo with a friend who is reading that book is says in the book an on wiki it says that dude is dead. Is that true wasn't he just in magazines this year or like some to most of the time am I missing some piece of the puzzle?

"Michael D. Echanis (November 16, 1950 – September 1978) was a former United States Army Special Forces and 75th Ranger Battalion enlisted soldier, ultimately becoming a mercenary. There are conflicting reports as to his death working as a CIA contract employee in Nicaragua in 1978: one is that he died in a helicopter crash in along with his colleague Charles Sanders and members of the Nicaraguan armed forces, due to a bomb placed on board.[1] According to other sources, he was killed (in the same time frame in Nicaragua) during an informal demonstration stunt trying to prove he could allow a jeep to roll over him without causing harm, and that he was added to the list of helicopter crash victims to cover up the incident.

He grew up in a farm family in Ontario, Oregon and was of Basque descent. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with "V" device for his service in a LRRP in the Vietnam War. He was eventually promoted to the rank of Specialist 4.

He served as the Martial Arts Editor of Soldier of Fortune magazine between 1974 to 1976. He also served as a cover model for the magazine on several occasions.

He was well-known as a hand-to-hand combat instructor for the Special Forces, SEALs, and other military groups. He was a high-ranking black sash in Hwa Rang Do and the author of three military-oriented hand-to-hand combat books based on it.[4] He had previously studied Judo and Tae Kwon Do.

Mike was never part of the First Earth Battalion.
Mike had a friend who was a Green Beret and stationed at Fort Bragg.
Mike was staying with his friend at Bragg and started training some people in Hwarangdo.
Others became interested and Mike opened his training center.
The training was hard and many who stayed and finished it were Green Berets, Special Forces members,so it became that Mike was assigned to train SF,which is not the case.
Members just participated in his school,on Bragg.

The US Army had members involved in distance viewing works,using psychic powers.
They were looking for other methods of psychic powers.

A Martial arts instructor named Guy Savelli,was rumored to have developed powers of Mind control with which he claimed he could kill.
Mr Savelli was brought to Bragg by Famed Green Beret POW and escapee Nick Rowe.
Nick Rowe believed the power of the mind was greater than we could imagine,and Nick credited his mind with allowing him to endure and escape his POW prison.
Nick brought Guy down to demo his materials to members of what was called the First Earth Battalion.

First Earth Battalion was the concept of developing super soldiers who had extreme battlefield awareness and had the power of psychic ability.

Guy Savelli was brought to Goat Lab and goats were lined up.
Guy focused his powers ,they asked which goat he targeted to Stare at,he said the number ,and the story goes,that a Goat fell over and later died,just not the goat Savelli was starring at.
The Powers that be thought they were on to something and hired Mr Savelli to a multi year contract tasked with forming a group of Special Operations Super Soldiers.

No one EVER duplicated the goat  thing,not even Mr Savelli.
Members said that after a few years they were able to control mental focus and were able to feel where the enemy was on a battlefield,but that was about the extent of the so called success.

I have not seen the movie as my understanding is that it is nothing near the truth.

  Those are by far the most interesting words Jim has ever written on the forum. Weird that anyone would contact Hock concerning Enchanis. Many strange things go on inside the Army and Military, most of it is not so much a secret but just unbelievable to those who were not there to see it for themselves. Im not talking spook stuff but more on the lines its possible Enchanis could have been killed doing stupid jeep tricks and then added onto a flight list to keep him from looking like a idiot. Then again he could have been silenced, none of us will ever know anyway but its a interesting story. Not nearly as interesting as the stories of Jim Thompson or Nick Rowe, not even the Kieth Idema story for that matter. 

  Disregarding the fantasy or reality of the goats and spook stuff the movie overall is a great movie, very entertaining. I had a couple good laughs watching it but its not nearly as good as the other "Spook" movie that Clooney starred in where he played the guy off the gong show Chuck Barris as an assassin, that one killed me.

In the movie, what did Mike Echanis do for the First Earth Battalion ?
(I have read that he was brought in to train the Green Berets of this Super Soldier Group Hand To Hand as well as the art of Invisibility that he learned in Hwarangdo ?)
This is not true.

The man brought in to teach H2H and other psychic skills was Mr Guy Savelli.
