I got this email yesterday, from a Nardia family member. Not sure what to do with it, so I figured  I would at least post this here.

"I demand that you immediately remove all references to Avi Nardia from your forum for they are presenting slanderous accusations about his record. He has recently posted documents on the web that definitively prove that he was a member of the Yamam and anyone who claims otherwise is slandering his reputation and most likely promoting their own business interests."

Wow are they getting touchy!

Honestly I'm getting tired of people using whatever special operations group is in vogue for promoting their schools. Even if they were a part of the group. Why not just teach karate, TKD or self defense and leave the rappelling videos and balaclava in their past? Why even suggest that the student will be learning some secret moves of SF group X?

Why not just get by on 1) the person being knowledgeable, 2) being a good instructor, 3) being an ethical business owner.

I went to his official site and I can't find any claims of him being a door kicker.

Quote
During his 24 years as a reserve officer, Avi Nardia (Major, IDF Res.) served as an Official Hand to Hand instructor and safety officer.  He also serverd in an Israeli Police special Counter Terror  unit as an intelligence team member with the rank of Staff Sergeant Major (NCO) and as its official defensive tactics/CQB instructor.  He also served at the Israeli Operational Police Academy as an official instructor of defensive tactics and operational behavior.  In 24 years of reserve service to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), he earned the rank of Major.  He has also trained Police agencies and armed forces all over the world, from Police patrol and corrections officers to SWAT, SRT and SERT team members along with Army, Marine and counter terror units and Special Forces.  He is one of a handful of instructors to have been an official instructor for the Israeli army, Israeli Police, and Israeli counter terror units.

With more than 38 years experience with different martial arts and CQB, Avi Nardia Kapap Combatives serves as a think tank, a repository of knowledge and EXPERIENCE with respect to the next level in reality self defense. Today's KAPAP Combatives is based on understanding and utilizing realistic scenarios that have emerged from real world experience in some of our worst and most threatening environments. Notably, KAPAP minimizes the need for either strength or power on the part of the KAPAP practitioner in taking action to protect themselves or their loved ones.

Avi Nardia KAPAP Combative's courses are designed for security companies, security departments, law enforcement agencies, military or civilians interested in upgrading their knowledge and capabilities in this field.

Our training system includes a well established curriculum mainly based on live exercises and simulations. We believe that only a wise combination of strategy and tactical learning, with extensive and realistic training, can offer professional and practical solutions in modern high stress situations

No Load ,I agree with you.

Avi has never claimed to be a door kicker.(as far as I know)
People assumed that because he claimed to be a member of Yamam that he was saying he was a door kicker, but he always claimed to have been there on the Intelligence Team.
He was asked,(due to his martial background) ,to be an instructor and from there he taught various units ,trained and got training.

No bone of contention by anyone that he was a Trainer.
The dispute seems to be :
Was he,Avi, a member of Yaman ? ( Yes )
Was he an operator,Door Kicker ? (No)

People who question Avi having been on Yaman say that Avi claimed to be an operator.
I have never heard nor read that he ever claimed that.
