US Marine Vet Shot Down In Thailand
« on: February 07, 2010, 09:42:36 AM »

With all the chatter about how England has its gun laws right I thought I should point out a situation that's going on here in Thailand. To make this short, A Englishman was busted dealing drugs in England. He never appeared at his sentencing and fled to Thailand. Using his real name he opened a realty business and married a Thai policeman's  ex wife. Don Whiting a US Marine now 65 years old was unfortunate enough to do business with Englishman on the run and has now paid a heavy price having been shot down like a dog by hired killers. Don Whiting has survived multiple gunshot wounds but is now paralyzed and will never walk again.

Said wheelchair bound Donald Whiting: “It’s difficult to hold any respect for the British authorities.  This says little for British justice or the reputation of the British police.”

This has nothing at all to do with British gun laws, but, if you point is that the British ‘justice’ system is too soft on criminals then I completely agree, as would most Brits. Hope this scumbag gets whats coming to him.

What irrelevant nonsense.

Tell me..... has anyone ever failed to answer their bail in an American court?  They have of course...... does that reflect on US Gun laws in any way, shape or form?

No.

Irrelevant nonsense? That figures coming from a gun hating Internet jerk off like you. The last guy I know of that jumped bail in America and fled to Thailand was hauled out of here by the FBI.

I fail to see your point - as usual - other than that every country other than America, the UK especially, sucks?

Yes, you got us - we have gangster scum in the UK that break the law, and innocent people pay a price for getting mixed up with them.

Sometimes we catch them, sometimes they flee to other countries to escape UK authorities and continue to break the law.

Please don't try to insinuate that US criminals don't behave in the same way - or shall we just dig around for more of those specific isolated anecdotes that you use to 'prove' your idiotic points, I reckon there might be one or two to counter and raise with.

Always the ex-pats that make so much patriotic noise about the country they left for a 'better life' somewhere else...

Anyway, back to topic....

Said wheelchair bound Donald Whiting: “It’s difficult to hold any respect for the British authorities.  This says little for British justice or the reputation of the British police.”

I wonder how many quotes we could get from American sources slagging off American Police?  It would be a nice game of "tit for tat" with Bryan.... but wouldn't actually prove anything.

Using one example to somehow try and discredit a nation's justice system is too ridiculous.  You must use themes..... i.e. large amounts of similar exampes.  Imagive the UK had a massive series of drive by shootings for example.  Or shootings in schools and colleges.  Or police officers shot dead on a large scale... often withtheir own guns.

Something like that.

Instead you just have little old ladies purses getting snatched and home invasions where the families get attacked with knives and terrorized. How about the guy who had his home invaded multiple times and the police did nothing? He finally went down stairs and shot a guy in his own house, instead of being a hero he got sent to prison.

The problem here is if your a VIP in England you have armed security. If your Joe the Plumber your shit out of luck as far as protecting yourself and family with weapons. This gets back to the guns in England thing so I will make this simple, some of you English have a peasant mentality and your more than happy to be second class citizens.

Outstanding Bryan, you are outdoing yourself in terms of ignorance and delusion.

So when you find a reference that supports your twisted views, it's proof positive?

Well, here's one for you in that case - I just got off the phone with a 70 year-old lady who has lived all her life in a fairly rough city in the North of England, and she assured me that she has never had her purse snatched, never been a victim of home invasion, never felt she needed a gun in order to feel safe either...

By your reckoning, this must prove that there is no crime at all?  After all, you pull out singular incidents to prove that the UK is in the grip of a serious crime epidemic, that we are powerless to resist.  If you want I reckon I could find other individuals around the same demographic that would support the altogether accurate reality of there being being far, far more 'no crime' than 'some crime' in the UK.

Truth is I really don't expect this to make a tiny bit of difference to your pathetic argument, just thought I'd give my mum a mention on the internet!

Thi is the nub of it.  Those in America who seek to keep firearms somehow feel the need to criticise a society that does not.  So they invent a populace that has 2had it's right to defendf itself" cruelly taken away.....  An pro Fox Huntin March becomes a "demand for guns...."  And the crime rate soars...... the streets littered with armed criminals preying on a weak an unarmed populace of sheeple.

Of course every society has plenty of victims of crime... even in States in America where almost anyone and everyone is armed.  But only ours count..... There's are swept under the carpet..... and they have about 14,000 inconvenient truths every year.  That's just the dead ones!

We're back to an Inuit in Alaska criticising a Californian because they don't wear a fur coat.  And the likes of Bryan will find one Californian without a sun tan to justify his claim.

I believe the term "peasants" covers England pretty well. If your happy not being allowed to own firearms I have no problem with that.

The original article is about a complete failure on the part of England concerning its Legal System and Law Enforcement. That complete breakdown in the system ended up getting an American Marine who retired to Thailand shot full of bullets.

In reading the story:
Mr Whiting was shot by three men who are Thai, not by Mr Oxley.
The men claim that Mr Oxley's wife, the former wife of a Thai Police officer, commisioned the hit.

Seems like a Thai on an American Marine Crime.

Maybe they should crack down on the access to guns Thai thugs have for use against foreing nationals living inside their borders.

Even if Mr Oxley was the shooter, how does this show a lack of enforcement of the Law By the British Government ?

Did the Thai government care about the crimes of Mr Oxley since a resident of their country ?
Apparently NOT.

So rather than look at the failure of the UK Government in its inetrnational law enforcement, look at the failure of the Thailand Government in its enforcement and control of criminals, including foreign ones, who break the law.

Most countries of the world have a hard time finding fugitives that hide within their own borders/boundries ,NO Less tracking down and finding those who flee and live in a foreign country.

Mr Oxley was able to renew his British Passport .
So ?

Members of the group of 9/11 hijackers were issued Visas to EXTEND their STAY inside the US weeks/months after they were KNOWN as the 9/11 Terrorists.
Before that they were just on Terror watch lists, hey but those list don't mean anything anyway ,right ?
