First off, being an inspector does not make you any better than anyone else. I have done my share of some law enforcement too and decided not to make it a career and decided to stay in the military. And, to label me or anyone as paranoid is a childish act and does not make you any more intelligent and credible. You definitely have a lot of growing up to do besides labeling others on this forum. I am here to debate on certain topics and not label people as such like you do. I am through talking with you on this topic. You can reply all you want here for this topic. I am not listening.

I thought Kato was your alter ego?

Vic.

I am an Inspector.  As in Inspector Clousseau...... not Kato... get it?

Inspector BS-congrats, you're reputation precedes you...except for one thing sir.
Your redundant logic is entertaining  ;D
Again, reminding you that your bantering about guns in America and that England does without and is safer lacks reason.

Example...fact-living in snow country requires snow gear.  I will paraphrase your logic metaphorically using this example.

"BS lives in a desert area so he doesn't need snow gear.  BS believes that living in the desert, snow gear is a ridiculous choice of apparel.  BS then deduces that snow gear (for those who live in the snow and tend to care so much about) causes it to snow.  BS then proclaims he is glad he doesn't have snow gear because he doesn't want it to snow where he lives."

Analysis 1 does snow gear cause snow?  No, snow gear is needed in snow country.
Analysis 2 is it bad to have snow gear in the desert?  No, it may snow occasionally, but you can do without the gear most of the time.
Analysis 3 does proclaiming that you are glad you don't need snow gear change anything about the weather? No, it is a redundant and mute point, a personal opinion or choice.

So, we can then deduce that any of your proclamations about snow gear, its owners, or its use or misuse is again pointless because you don't live in snow country.

Did I lose you again sir?

And...I think Vick has something there when he mentions a hint of superiority complex.  It's not becoming of an English Inspector, in my humble opinion sir.  ;D

Of course we're safer in the UK.  That's what I've been telling you.  You are less safe in the USA.  That's what I've been telling you.......

Isn't it ironic how so many of you argue against me by bringing evidence for me to the table?

Shastana,

Your argument about snow sounds remarkably like the Eskimos and Californians argument Brian has been making for years. Seems you agree with him after all, who would of thought it.  ;)

That's exactly the point I was going to make..... The irony...... Haw Haw Haw!

 ;D

T'is indeed the US that attempts to force their gun culture onto us "sheeple" in other countries.  "The point is choice in self defence" apparently.

Silly me.  I always thought that the point was was safety personal safety.

So would I prefer to live somewhere dangerous were I could have a gun?  Because the society is so fooked up I probably need one?  Or would I prefer to live in a society where I don't need one.

Durrrrr... That's a no brainer, Bubbah.

Guys, don't waste your time with this bloke. He is a lost cause. Don't give this prick the satisfaction by replying to him. Redneck? I am not even a Redneck. He doesn't even know me. I am a city guy. Inspector? It don't mean squat to me. He's human just like anybody else, unless he wears his thongs backwards. We have done enough to state our point. He don't like America's fascination with guns, that's his problem. The more we ignore this clown, the better.

Wait for it....hear that?  SHHHHWWWWWOOOOOO!!

Right over your head sir, you completely missed my points about your logic....the inspector should know inductive and deductive reasoning, and the difference with redundant arguments about gun culture in the US.

Read once again, this time think about the "gear makes it snow" comment a little closer.  Then, relate that to your comments on American gun culture and crime paradigm you claim exists.

SHHHHHWWWWOOOOOO!  Am I loosin ya!?

And Metz...there is no correlation in BS and my IQ, remember he's the superior inspector guy with the English cranium, and me...well the "dumb shit red neck"...

OK, lets try another short metaphor to describe another brief point because that one was a little deep...how about this...

...a rich man drives thru a ghetto and rolls down the window, then laughs out loud at the poverty he sees before him and says...I'm glad I don't live in this dump...these people should clean this shit hole up, bunch of lazy useless dumbasses!

Hint-who's fault is the poverty, the poor mans or the rich mans?

Too deep again...lets go to the baby pool now...
the environment you are in is based on circumstance.  Some can just move away if they can, others don't have that luxury of choice, no money and no job to move to.  Others make the best of it, try to carve out a piece of sanity and security with their right to defend themselves with guns.  Yet others choose a life of crime.  You can't just wave your dick at the problem and wish it away, so you have to accept the reality of the situation and see it for what it is..not what you think it should or should not be.

And for the UK?  All the comments about guns are directed to one simple fact.  UK citizens do not have the luxury of firearm security that many small and old innocent victims may need to defend themselves with.  It is a simple observation.  And...if you've ever been a victim or have family that is victimized, then the prospect of defending your loved ones to even up the bar looks pretty damn good with a pea shooter in hand.  That's all.

SHHHHHHHWWWWWWOOOOOO!!

No worries Vic, don't let this Limey get in your head, he's a tail spinner with quicksand under foot and brick shoes to go with the spiffy yellow outfit our leader Arnold refers to...water off a ducks back and all that.  Goes to show you how much a tea and crumpet eater knows about us!  Same old England...they're still sore about 1776...for when we shoved those very bang sticks up their keisters and off they went.  After washing them, those bang sticks went on the rack...pretty damn handy things to have around ;)

There may be more firearms in one major US city than the UK but that doesn't mean the gun owners are as effective with their weapons as those in th UK. I read a book titled 'Britains' Armed Police' and was surprised to read how they were always armed if they chose to be until WW2. Most chose not to carry because the threat was not there. In WW2 police armouries were emptied to arm the Home Guard and not restocked after the war. The qualifications required to carry a gun in the UK police are very demanding.

Nowadays there is a firearm related incident in the UK every hour or so, according to one source. But they include replica guns which a lot of teens show to be tough etc.

I think it would be hard living in the USA and having to make the decision to carry a gun or not. Far better to live somewhere it isn't necessary. In Australia the reality is 85% of all men and 94% of all women will experience no violence at all in any 12 month period and very little of that is gun related.

Welcome to the Jungle...in the jungle...the mighty American Jungle!   Rugged wilderness and vast oceans, what a great place!  I can go the ocean, then the desert, the city, then back to the snow covered mountains in my state.  We can hunt and fish here, there are big cats, bears, gators, snakes, and then the urban "meat eaters" wandering about.  In many areas, It's No place for a "civilized pussy".  As the saying goes, Love it or Leave it.  Most stay, even more want to migrate here.

So why then is Immigration is a problem, so why the hype to move to America then?  Could it be we are gathering up all the welfare seekers?  I met quite a few of those, some neighbors even from Italy and Germany, and they laugh at my 40-50hr job commitment, then blatantly envy my possessions...go figure.

They scoff my rifle collection, but gladly accept my jerked venison gift.  And when I scared the bear that ripped off their kitchen door with my 12 gauge they were grateful as all hell....go figure again!  I guess they want somebody else to do everything for them, like royalty or something.

This eedjut Red Neck still doesn't get the joke about being an Inspector......

Don't they have the Pink Panther in the States?

shastana..... Metz spelled it out for you.  Your so called "reasoning" is merely a re-hash of my own.  Though I used the analogy of clothing for people living in Alaska, compared
to those living in California.

Can't you read?  Or am I supposedly not able to understand a point that I made months, if not years, before you did?

OK I'm going to call you Homer from now on, you sound just like him...doh!

If you really believe that we are on the same page, then why the sulky mug and sour puss face when you hear about gun crime in the US?  Still can't accept that you're English beer goggles have got you beat on this one?  And you still audaciously admit the facts are just the facts...and make blanket judgments.

You know what we call someone who can't argue their way back to their own talking points?  A liar or lawyer, same thing.  You missed your calling...inspector Homer!

That reminds me of using clippers to cut my hair about 8 years ago.  I forgot to put the guard on and started cutting it ALL off....  One swipe and it was too late, so it all had to come off.....

My wonderful children shouted with glee.... "You look like Homer Simpson!"
