I was finally able to watch this movie (it was my birthday this weekend, so we splurged a little!); took my wife and my daughter with me. Everyone enjoyed it immensely and we had some great conversation about the movie afterwards. It was great to watch an "action movie" that provided so much more than well choreagraphed action sequences.

Of course, I'm a big Denzel Washington fan, so I might be a tad biased; IMO he did a great job!

I will be buying this as soon as it's released on DVD. I'm already looking forward to watching it again, and I'm not really into watching the same movie over and over again (other than "Enter the Dragon" ;D).

This movie is Dawg approved (FWIW!).

awesome!, I nomimate Dawg as the official SFC movie reviewer...

It was the "Enter the Dragon" confession that prompted that nomination, wasn't it?  ;)

I don't even like "Return of the Dragon", yet I watched it again last week just for the fight scene between Bruce and Chuck. It just never gets old.

Thanks for the nomination; maybe as the Official SFC Movie Reviewer (you know all the words in an official title have to begin with a capital letter, right?) my wife will concede to my desire to watch every action/Kung fu/anything-to-do-with-martial-arts movie that comes out.

"Honey, don't you understand that's it my JOB to watch these things? People are counting on me!"

It's a shame she's too dang smart to fall for that. I think that's about the only downside to marrying a smart woman...you can't get away with jack! Well, I can't seem to, anyway.

Denzel Washington took some training lessons from Jeff Imada and Dan Inosanto 3-4 months before they make the movie.

Wow!

Training with Jeff Imada AND Dan Inosanto for 3-4 months? That'd be like winning the Lottery for me!

I wonder if he appreciates the caliber of the training he received?

Until I get finished being jealous, I'm no longer a big Denzel fan.

(BTW...This might take a while.)

I'm a fairly big fan of the post-apocalyptic genre.  I liked this movie, both for the action and just because of the story line.  It's pretty good overall, not great, but definitely one that I'd watch again.
