knife thrusts
« on: March 03, 2010, 07:06:18 AM »

I forgot and sent the post on Herbert-in addition what are good tactics to practise on repeated knife thrusts to your body or upper areas-not just one stab.??

reolizeing you have to control the knife and attack forcefully.

When stabbed or thrust at one must train to parry the arm using the weapon inside and across ,or outside and across.
Never leave the blade arm in the same position/plane/line to thrust ,pull back and thrust again.
Move In to the attacker at angle,so when the thrust is retracted you are inside  making it easier to grab and control the weapon bearing limb.
(if you stay in position and do not move in,are lucky enough to get hold of the weapon bearing limb, the attacker will have no problem pulling you in as his/her pull is using some of the largest muscles on the body and you will most likely be leaning forward in a position of No Balance)
Once control of the weapon bearing limb is accomplished then you must strike as able and down the attacker, never leaving them time or room to reposition, change blade to the other  hand or reatliate.

Makes sense-angles  make sense because going straight in one is going right into the
attack-ill do some practise -see how it goes- thanks  WW
