Bomb-proof planes
« on: March 04, 2010, 05:50:02 PM »

Who knows who said this...passed around...fun idea though...

An engineer (ex-NASA project director) has what I think is
the near perfect solution for airport security!

*Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body
scanners at the airports. Have a booth that you can step into
that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device
        you may have on you.*

*It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this
crap about racial profiling and this method would eliminate a long
and expensive trial.  Justice would be quick and swift..*

    *Case Closed!*

I think the ACLU would consider that both an invasion of privacy and discrimination against a minority (bomb wearing terrorists), not to mention making the airport authorities liable for the injury to bomb wearers. I can see insurance premiums sky rocketing and airfares becoming unaffordable and this is before even the first lawyer gets a hold of it.

I have a better idea. Why not offer special charter flights for terrorists? Scale up a Predator Drone and make it able to carry a passenger, then fly him off over the Yemeni desert and let him do his thing. He gets video coverage and his own web site and so on. He makes his political point and nobody is harmed. However, we need to run it past the ACRR for approval. The American Council For Robotics Rights. Don't want a repeat of Blade Runner now do we?
