I HATE PUSHUPS! So boring!
Agreed! That being said, I've actually added pushups to my interval training and after 3 weeks, I'm doing 40 pushups for my first two sets instead of 30. This past Monday I completed 40, 40, 30, 30 and 30.
The best I've done since my shoulder surgery was 75 consecutive pushups. I really haven't bothered with pushups too much since then, just doing the mandatory number at whatever class I'm visiting or training in. But, about two months ago I was in a class and I felt myself getting fatigued by the third set of 25. Usually not a problem for me, so I decided to see what was up. Sure enough, somehow through my training program I had set myself up to do multiple sets of 25, but 30 pushups was about it for me. Bummer!
So, I decided to switch some things around and set my goal for 100 consecutive pushups. I think I'll keep with my own training program instead of switching to the one Hock posted, but it was pretty cool seeing I'm not the lone nut out there that thinks being able to do 100 pushups is a worthwhile endeavor.
Besides, now I don't have to worry about my training because the gym is packed; hardly anybody uses the TRX or the medicine balls and I've got plenty of room in that area of the gym to do my pushups. I know the iron will miss me, but I'll be back! Should only take 8-12 weeks to get to 100 (barring any injuries!).
But yeah, Kentbob, I'll hate doing every single one of 'em!
