Wet and Cold Jim Wagner
« on: August 26, 2010, 11:57:51 PM »

You need to write a book about this goof-ball.  The problem is people would think you are lying because it is so crazy no one could make it up.  There is another problem.  People have already forgotten about Wagner.  I couldn't find one person in Israel who remembered him in any significant way.  I did, however talk to an Israeli in the US with a funny Jim Wagner story.  in short, here goes:

Jim Wagner is in Israel doing who knows what.  I don't think he ever had a paid gig in Israel and it costs a lot to get and stay there.  (I did locate a woman who was 17 and was in a pre-Army enlistment seminar on hand to hand tactics taught by Jim Wagner) she said it was a joke.

Anyway, Jim Wagner's host had a flat across from the Ministry of Defense.  A nice view.  The host wants to go out for the day and Wagner says he is going to stay at the flat to catch up on sleep and rest.  It is a cold day.  The host leaves and comes back late in the evening.  He can't find Wagner anywhere.  Looks everywhere.  Goes out onto his patio and he sees this ladder that has fallen over.  Hears Jim Wagner screaming from the roof.  Host climbs up the ladder and finds Wagner all blue faced and shivering  from the rain and cold.  He has been stuck on the roof all day and part of the night.  Funny thing is...

He has his tripod all set up and the video camera facing the Ministry of Defense building. Host asks him WTF?  He explains that he was going to give his people an update from Israel.  I can just see this shit.  "This is Jim Wagner on secret business out in front of the Israeli Ministry of Defense... the ladder fell.  oh god. help me.. I don't want to die.."

Consensus is that he is a pompous ass and a huge- non- training faker.  Can a person always be just an instructor?  Where is he evolution in that?  Where is the risk?  How do you evolve without fighting?  Just teaching.  I guess that works if you commit to being a pudgy little soft instructor.  Good with words, maybe.  Jim is obscure and almost out of anyone's memory.

It is hilarious to think of a tactical genius and one of the most dangerous men alive (in his ads) being stuck on a roof because a ladder fell.  It's even more funny because he wasn't up there to do anything productive like fix a roof or clean gutters - but he was going to get pictures to perpetuate his BS.  The only thing that would have made it funnier would have been if Defense Ministry Security would have seen him doing it, taken him into custody, and then had to piece through his crap stories over 3 days.  They probably would have turned him over to the mental health people thinking he had Jerusalem Complex.

Of all the guys who are being taken to task, Wagner stands out.  He stands out because when you watch his videos, he can't even move well.  The other guys may be full of it, liars, frauds, or opportunists - but Jim doesn't even look like he's a competent basic martial artist or like he trains at all.

Internet challenges are all chest-bumping and I don't like them, but here's a reasonable challenge for Jim - post a video on Youtube of you doing a single pull-up, making sure your feet are shown.  (So you don't have one of your master instructors holding your feet and helping)

Got an email last night from a veteran Costa Mesa Police SWAT officer who knew Jim Wagner for years and years....

"Love it!  It's been a long time coming.  He deserves everything he is getting.  The ladder story cracked me up.  It's vintage Wagner."

Pathetic little guy.  It is sad that there is no more news on him.  I'm sure he will do something stupid soon.  It has been to long. LOL.
