I watched New British TV Show ' My Families Crazy Gap Year '. English family went to live in Mongolia with local herder's.

To honour the family a sheep was killed. Laid on it's back, leg's held together and then one small cut under the right side of rib cage. The herder put down the knife and reached into the sheep up to his elbow and crushed the arteries to heart by hand. There was no noise from the animal and barely a drop of blood. They do this so next to zero is wasted. I would say it was dead in seconds. Note to self ! don't mess with Mongolian herders !!
